Artist Spotlight with Joshua Slone

Written by Emma Schrecengost

If you haven’t heard of Joshua Slone, he’s been taking the folk music scene by storm over the past year, and he hadn’t even released any music until recently. Fans on social media fell in love with his soft voice and his ability to tell emotional, raw stories. Every song carries lyrical depth that hits exactly where it needs to.

Joshua began posting his songs online in 2024, and his audience eagerly awaited his official releases. In September 2025, Slone opened for Zach Bryan at Michigan Stadium, where the U.S. stadium attendance record was broken. The concert drew more than 100,000 people, and judging by how Slone’s career is progressing, we may see even bigger crowds in the future.

This young artist has his whole career ahead of him. His debut album, released on October 29, 2025, amassed over one million streams within 24 hours. Many are calling it “the album of the year.” Slone says this 16-track project is a collection of songs he’s been writing since he was 15, but the material feels well beyond his years. The track “Demons” gained major attention on TikTok, and fans are thrilled to finally stream it.

Although Joshua Slone is new to the music industry, he’s already built a solid foundation. His honesty and storytelling evoke the spirit of classic folk artists, while his modern edge keeps things fresh. If he continues at this pace, Slone could easily become one of the defining voices of his generation.
