Boslen

Boslen is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. Hailing from Chilliwack, BC, he moved to Vancouver, and this city serves as a source of inspiration for his unique sound. With its contrasting landscapes and lifestyles, Vancouver has provided Boslen with a unique perspective that sets him apart from other artists. His debut album, DUSK to DAWN, showcases his ability to seamlessly blend trap, pop, punk, and rock into a hypnotic sound that captivates his listeners.

Boslen's upbringing in Chilliwack, BC, was mostly surrounded by farmland, and he didn't have much exposure to hip-hop music. However, a difficult time in his life, when his mom and stepdad briefly separated, led him to discover Kid Cudi, and his music became Boslen’s inspiration. In particular, the song "Up, Up and Away" resonated with him, and he listened to it repeatedly trying to protect his mental health.

Boslen's musical journey took off during another difficult period in his life. He received a rugby scholarship to attend the University of Victoria but suffered two consecutive ACL tears, jeopardizing his plans for a future in sports. It was during this time that Boslen began writing his music, using it as a creative outlet to cope with the loss of his athletic dreams. His passion for music continued to grow, and he eventually left university to pursue his career in the industry.

In 2018, Boslen moved to North Vancouver and released two mixtapes, Motionless and Motionless II. His sound began to take shape in 2019 with the release of “Eye for an Eye” and “Hidden Nights,” which earned him millions of streams. Boslen released the Black Lotus EP in the same year, showcasing his intricate songwriting abilities. Born in a place of contrasts, Boslen's music perfectly mirrors the energy of his hometown - a place where nature and urban life coexist in harmony. His music reflects his desire to be different, to push boundaries, and to achieve greatness against all odds. His work is a testament to his dedication to his craft, and his album, DUSK to DAWN, is an embodiment of his vision as an artist.

As he continues to push the boundaries of what is possible in the music industry, he remains dedicated to representing his hometown and inspiring others to pursue their dreams. "There’s thousands of kids here just like me who are so talented," he says. "I’m trying to make a world that’s bigger than myself."
