New Music Friday with Sauce Music - August 2nd 2024

To start off this week's Fresh Finds, we want to highlight Eli Winders and his new single, “Famous for a Heartache,” featuring Vincent Mason. We’re seeing an uptick in features across the country genre, and this song is a prime example of how powerful these collaborations can be. On “Famous for a Heartache,” the chemistry between Winders and Mason is undeniable, elevating both of their performances. Set over a smooth guitar strum, the catchy and vibrant nature of this track is sure to land it on any and all summer country playlists. The lyrics depict the bright lights of Los Angeles and Hollywood through a country lens, which seems to hint at a larger metaphor: country music is continuing to surge into the mainstream.

Next up is Josiah Queen and his new single, “i need you more,” featuring Henrik. Staying on theme, this song is another example of the growing presence of collaboration in the broader folk and country landscape. This track falls into the category of a folk-pop hit, with a larger-than-life feel. Both artists demonstrate immense vocal range and cadence, giving the song deep emotional resonance. For anyone who has experienced the pain of losing a significant other, this record captures that moment of realization—the longing that follows when we understand just how much we needed what we’ve lost.

Our final addition to this week's Fresh Finds goes to SirLockeHolmes and his new single, “The Hunt.” This track leans more towards traditional country but features elements of pop and hip-hop, creating a moving and upbeat song. SirLockeHolmes showcases his unique ability to craft high-tempo, multi-genre records that push the boundaries of country music. As a leading figure in the genre's recent renaissance, SirLockeHolmes shows no signs of taking his foot off the gas with “The Hunt.”
