New Music Friday with Sauce Music - March 14th, 2025

Written by Samuel Kaplan

It was a big New Music Friday for the popular folk space, and for our first Fresh Find, we’re kicking things off with Henrik and his new single, “Take a trip.” Bursting with vibrant energy and catchy melodies, this feel-good road trip anthem is the perfect addition to any spring-into-summer playlist. It also marks the first single from his upcoming EP, Wherever You Are, set to drop on April 11th. If “Take a trip” is any indication, this project is shaping up to be a strong one—we’ll be keeping a close eye on its full release.

Next up, we’re spotlighting another standout in the popular folk scene: Josiah Queen and his latest single, “Yesterday Is Dead.” Queen has cemented himself as a force in the folk movement while staying true to his Christian roots. His ability to craft widely appealing music with such strong faith-driven messages is commendable. With his signature melodic and energetic delivery, Queen’s music resonates deeply—not just through sound but through the conviction and authenticity behind it.

For our third pick, we’re celebrating asiris and the release of his project, retrograde rodeo. While it wasn’t easy to choose just one standout track, we’re shining a light on the opening song, “time zones.” This track sets the perfect tone for the project, drawing listeners in with asiris’ signature melodic approach and leaving them eager for more.

Closing out this week’s list is Mack Gresham with his new single, “To Keep Us There.” Gresham takes a unique approach to the popular folk movement, opting for a slower, more emotionally driven sound that turns each song into a full experience. The poignant depth of “To Keep Us There” showcases both his artistry and the substance behind his storytelling.
