Justend & Souly Had - see you irl (Review)

Written by Samuel Kaplan

This past week, Justend and Souly Had along with Zac B dropped a brand-new joint EP titled somewhere, ny. The project features five records, including a song we want to spotlight called “see you irl.” This track kicks off with a super groovy, inviting guitar strum and builds up with a catchy verse and flow from Justend. The pre-chorus follows with an unbelievable vocal display from Souly Had, whose angelic voice plays perfectly off Justend’s sharp and methodical lyricism.

The two have a certain chemistry and balance that keeps the song as fresh as it is engaging. With a wide array of sounds and melodies, there’s still a distinct east coast, New York feel—a nice touch given the project’s name and the artists' New York upbringing.

This song and the project as a whole serve as a refreshing addition to the broader hip-hop space, checking off many boxes for a quality record, including lyricism, flow, production, and catchiness. At the same time, there's a genuine sense of authenticity and creativity. We recommend listening to “see you irl,” along with the entire somewhere, ny project.
