Liam Brock - Sit Around (Review)

Written by Riley Furey

Since his debut just over two years ago, Liam Brock has evolved from an artist who could simply put together a song, into an artist that can make you understand exactly what he's been going through with his music. Liam is fresh off of receiving Spotify placements both on 'Fresh Finds' and 'Fresh Finds Folk,' but this time, he's back with a more rock leaning single, "Sit Around."

2024 has been a turbulent year for the Ohio native to say the least, and you can feel the weight of it all on this track. The song starts with a near 30 second instrumental that feels like Brock's way of figuring out what he wants to say, and from that point forward, Liam calls out into the universe to let it all go. If you're a fan of deeper cuts by Briston Maroney like "Rose," or even his most infamous track "Freakin Out On The Interstate," then I have a feeling this will resonate with you too.

"Sit Around" serves as Brock's strongest evolution as an artist thus far, and is surely a step towards a sound that Liam has been working all his life to create. If you find yourself needing any further reason why you should dive into his music, then maybe you should consult the fact that he recently secured a placement playing bass in Zack McDonald's book that had a stint at #1 on Amazon's New Releases. It's clear to me that even though Liam has been in the game for a while now, that this is only the beginning.
